Vedavyasa Arts and Science College Celebrated Onam on the college premises. The celebration began with a Singarimelam procession from the college entrance to the main block. Cultural events were conducted as part of the celebration. Events such as flower carpet competition, tug-of-war, breaking the pot, lemon & spoon race, filling the bottle with water, Thiruvathirakali etc. andonamsadhya were conducted..
The students of our college recently organized a food festival at the institute which was titled as “COMIDA 2K17”which featured popular cuisines of the Malabar. This festival is successfully executed by the students under the guidance of teachers. The dishes of the festival included MalabarDhamBiriyani, Chattipathiri, Fried chicken, Kabab, Milk products, Payasam etc.
On the Fresher’s day the senior students gave a grant welcome to the juniors. It was a good platform to make friendship with each other.
One of the most anxiously awaited moment of our college. The annual day cultural program was held at Tagore Centenary Hall, Kozhikode. It was a 3 days programpresided over by the Principal, the viewers were stunned by the breath taking performance of students. Our Principal distributed prizes among the participants performed well in the function.
Holi, the festival of colours and a celebration of the triumph of good over evil wascolourful. Our students, teachers and staffs celebrated Holi with joy and happiness. The students sprinkled colours on each other.
Diwali, considered one of the India’s happiest festival conducted in our Campus. To illumine the whole world and spread the brightness to all our students, we lightened the lamp and distributed Diwali sweets among them.
Our college conducted various sports activities inorder to enhance their physical games such as football, cricket, badminton and basketball etc. The students participated in various inter- collegiate championships also. A large ground is available in the campus to practice student’s sports related activities.
Aadhil Rahman (B.Com-Finance) bagged Silver in O-Sport National kickboxing held at Delhi in 2017. Anusree K.M.(BSc. Maths) won the Bronze in National Taekwondo championship held at Calcutta in 2017.
As a part of co-curricular activity final year students of our college conducted an Industrial Visit and study tour. Tour gave students refreshing, enlightening, adventurous, nostalgic and tremendous learning experience through visit of some prominent places.
In connection with International Yoga Day we arranged a special yoga session in which the students and teachers along with the Principal performed various “Asanas”. The main aim was to raise awareness and ignite a passion for fitness and yoga among students. In the present day when students face stress, tension, fear etc. simple Asanascan help to dispel these.
Christmas and new year was celebrated with cake cutting, sharing gifts and various cultural programs.
All the students shared their experience on one of the book they have read. This encourage students to read more.
