It deals with the study and application of Electrical Systems for use in these different environments and equips you with the knowledge of transmission and generation of electrical power, electrical circuit design, electronics, instrumentation, control systems, understanding electrical and electronic networks etc. The course also covers the study of electronic devices and circuits involved in measurement, instrumentation, control and protection of electrical equipments and conversion systems. Electrical Machines Laboratory is intended for students of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Electronics and instrumentation Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering branches, for conducting various experiments in electrical machines. The laboratory is equipped with over twenty experimental setup with branded machines which includes DC Machines, Transformers, Alternators, Induction Machines (with V/f controller, pole changing, and eddy current loading), Energy Efficient Induction Motor, Synchronous Motor, Synchronizing Panel etc. All machines are set up in the laboratory with the facility of loading up to 125% of full load. The lab facilities are sufficient to conduct experiments as per the syllabus and beyond the syllabus. The lab gives the students sufficient practical knowledge and industrial applications of electrical machines.

The Power Electronics Laboratory is intended for students of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering branches for conducting various experiments using power electronic devices. The lab is equipped with power electronics training kits, chopper & inverter control units, thyristors controllers, Drive Control using DSP controllers, d.c. machine drives, function generators, signal generators, oscilloscopes, powerscopes and multimeters.

The EEE computer lab is equipped with 60 modern computer systems. High speed Intel processors with 2GB RAM are used in all the machines. Students utilize the lab for performing simulations of their mini-project as well as main-project circuits in addition to the simulation lab experiments. The computers are installed with simulation/analysis softwares like MATLAB, PSIM, AutoCAD Electrical & LabView. For an uninterrupted operation, the power supply of the lab is backedup by UPS and generators.

A model room is set up with a large number of models. Models have been collected from KSEB, Intrans Ernakulam, KEL Mamala and from some other agencies.
Models were received from abroad through some of the students. Suppliers of Electrical items to the college have donated some of the models. Instructor K. K. Balakrishnan brought many models which have been collected by him from many agencies from Kerala and abroad. He also made many working models during his spare time.
