The course gives training and development in the various streams of Mechanical Engineering and gives ample practical applications in our fully - equipped laboratories.

The programme focuses on solutions to the problems in design, manufacturing, robotics, automotive, energy production, thermodynamics etc. The department has well qualified faculty members who are specialists in the fields of thermal, design, and manufacturing, and safety. The faculty includes post doctoral fellows and doctoral fellows from reputed universities /IIT`s from India and abroad.

The department provides an environment to students in such a way that they will be able to understand the core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, material science and energy.

  • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

The General Mechanical workshop is the common workshop for first and second semester in an Engineering Course. In this workshop students are enabled in basic mechanical operations like fitting, carpentry, foundry and smithy.This workshop develops the creative skill of the future engineers


This laboratory gives the students a practical knowledge on the fundamental principles of Fluid Mechanics and can verify the principles of fluid flow. They conduct study of various pipe fittings, valves, gauges, water meter & current meter and on stability of floating bodies, pipe flow, applications of Bernoulli's Theorem etc Machine tools are power driven machines used by the mechanical engineers for imparting the desired size and shape to a work piece with the desired accuracy by removing the excess metal in the form of chips. In the machine tool lab, the student performs different operations in the lathe such as taper turning, thread cutting, grooving etc., and also cuts different types of gears in the milling machine provided with indexing mechanism

In the machine tool lab, the student performs different operations in the lathe such as taper turning, thread cutting, grooving etc., and also cuts different types of gears in the milling machine provided with indexing mechanism.


The rise in civilization is closely related to improvements in transportation. In the development of transport, the internal combustion engines occupy a very important position. In our Heat Engines Lab almost all types of most modern two stroke and four stroke engines are available for the students to get practical knowledge about the working and characteristics of different engines. The cut sections of different engines, gear box etc helps the students to know more about the features of different engines. A working Boiler is also part of the heat engines Laboratory.


The advanced machine tool laboratory is actually a continuation of the machine tool laboratory. In this lab, the student familiarizes himself with some more machine tools such as the slotter, grinding machine and drilling machine. He also cuts specimen in the shaper and studies the quick return mechanism used in a shaper.


This Lab has State-of-the-art facility which is intended to provide a cutting edge through hand-on experience like Governer Apparatus, gyroscope and other vibration measurement equipments.


The mechanical measurements laboratory is for the final year mechanical engineering which as the name indicates is related to measurement of various gear parameters, thread parameters, wet bulb temperature. He also understands the usage of gauges, micrometer, surface roughness tester etc.


As a technology oriented institution, we keep a modern and sophisticated lab for the benefit of students. Presently our CNC lab is equiped with a state of the art technology CNC machine. It is a production machine with following specifications.

Computer Aided Design is an essential industrial requirement as a part of technological development. The department has a well-equiped computer laboratory with 33 workstations and advanced softwares such as MATLAB, CATIA, etc
